Important Features for Your Map Application
In this lecture, you will learn how to use important functional features in the App Configurator to enhance your map application. These features help you improve the usability and structure of your application.

Steps Overview: Viewpoints

In the App Configurator, click the module and open "Edit Module Components".

Go to the "Viewpoints" tab and create a new viewpoint.

Selecting "Set active on startup" checkbox set the viewpoint as start view.

Add additional viewpoints as needed.

To update the start view, check the "Set Active on Startup" option again.

Test the "Go to Home View" button to return to the start view from anywhere.

Save your app configuration. Viewpoints work across 2D, 3D, and Oblique maps.
Steps Overview: Plugins

In the App Configurator, click the module and open "Edit Module Components".

Go to the "Plugins" tab.

Search for and add the "search-nominatim" and "measurement" plugins.

Save your app configuration.
Steps Overview: Content Window

In the App Configurator, click the module and open "Edit Module Components".

Open the "Interactive Content Editor" in the Content tab.

Activate "Show Valid Items Only" to see the visible layers for different maps.

Change the layer order in the Content tab.

Add / Remove layers from the Content tab.

Add a New group "expandable" in the Content tab for grouping and designing your layers.

Drag & drop individual layers into your group layers within the Interactive Content Editor.

When layers are grouped, the group name is automatically added before each layer name. To customize how the layer appears in the Content Window, use the "Override title" option.

Save your app configuration and preview your results by clicking the Content icon in the map interface.
