Tool or map is not activated.
Clicking on the icon activates the tool or map.

Tool or map is activated.
Clicking on the icon deactivates the tool or map.

Window is not active, but visible.
Clicking on the window activates it.

Window is active & visible.
Tools inside the window can now be used.

Clicking the icon docks the window back to its original position

Clicking on the icon activates the layer and visualizes it.

Clicking on the icon activates the group completely.

One or more functions are available for a layer and can be applied.
If you move the mouse over one of the icons, a hint is displayed and the icon is colored.

One or more styles are available for a layer and can be applied.
Clicking on the symbol opens the style selector.

Clicking on the icon opens the configured URL, either in a new tab in the browser or in an iFrame within the map application.

A viewpoint is available for the layer.
Clicking the icon jumps to the configured viewpoint for the layer.

Clicking the icon selects the feature and opens the edit mode of the drawing tool.

If you move the mouse over the icon the feature is ready for selection.

The feature is selected. Clicking the icon ends the selection and closes the drawing tool at the same time.
