AdV Plugin
The AdV plugin enables the management of 3D building models in the VCDB v5 in accordance with the product and
quality standard (PQS) of the German Working Committee of the Surveying Authorities of the States of the Federal
Republic of Germany (AdV) in version 3.0. In particular, it ensures the AdV-compliant export of 3D building models
from the VCDB according to the PQS specifications in the AdV CityGML 3.0 format.
In addition, it supports the import of existing datasets in the previous AdV CityGML 1.0 format, which are automatically upgraded to the current version 3.0 during import.
| The AdV plugin is based on the beta version of the PQS 3D building models v3.0 standard. A stable version of the AdV PQS standard was not yet available at the time of implementation. |
The AdV plugin provides two new command-line commands for vcdb-tool:
-
import citygml-adv: Import of AdV CityGML 1.0 datasets into the VCDBv5 -
export citygml-adv: Export from the VCDBv5in the AdV CityGML 3.0 format
Installation and usage
The AdV plugin is shipped with vcdb-tool and distributed as a standalone ZIP package in the plugins subfolder
of the installation directory. To make it available in vcdb-tool, simply unzip the corresponding ZIP package into
the extensions subfolder. The next time vcdb-tool is started, the plugin is automatically loaded and becomes
available.
To remove the plugin, delete its files from the extensions folder. For more information on using plugins and the
corresponding CLI options of vcdb-tool, see here.
To disable the plugin temporarily at runtime instead of removing it from the extensions folder,
use the --plugins option and pass the classname vcs.vcdb.plugins.adv.AdvPlugin.
